Fused Glass

FUSED GLASS art is created by cutting and layering pieces of glass, which are then melted together in a kiln at high temperatures. Artists choose different colors, textures, and shapes to design unique patterns before carefully assembling the layers. The kiln is heated to around 1,100–1,500°F (593–815°C), allowing the glass pieces to fuse without completely losing their shape. Depending on the desired effect, multiple firings may be needed to achieve depth, texture, or a smooth, glossy finish. Techniques like slumping (shaping glass over molds) or tack fusing (partially melting pieces together) can add dimension. Once cooled, the finished piece may be polished, cut, or drilled for final touches.

Stained Glass

STAINED GLASS art is created by cutting pieces of colored glass into specific shapes to form a design. Artists use patterns or templates to guide the cutting process, ensuring precise fits. The glass pieces are then arranged and joined using strips of lead came or copper foil, which are soldered together to create a solid structure. To enhance details, artists may paint or etch designs onto the glass before firing it in a kiln to fuse the paint permanently. Once assembled, the stained glass panel is reinforced, cleaned, and sometimes framed for installation in windows, lamps, or decorative pieces. The final artwork captures and transforms light, creating stunning visual effects.
